This is a photo of some birds sitting on the wing walls of the tailrace.
Pelicans, cormorants, and seagulls hang out at the tailrace waiting for dinner
to be served. An occasional bald eagle can be seen gliding overhead.

Here is a happy fisherman. He and his partner took
home some very nice walleyes.

Here is a happy fisherman with a huge northern pike. Many
large northerns are caught in early spring just when the ice is beginning to
melt in the shallow bays. This young man will remember this fishing trip for a
long, long time. |
Want to try something different with
your walleyes? Fillet them; roll the fillets in your favorite batter; deep fry them; take a soft
shell taco and smear it with tartar sauce*; lay a fresh piece of romaine lettuce**
in the shell; drop in your walleye fillet; roll it up and eat it. We call them
fish tacos. They are very tasty. *
sauce variation: mix chipotle chili with sour cream. Usually 1 chili is enough
per 1/4 cup of sour cream. If it is too hot take out the seeds from the chilis.
** napa cabbage; iceberg lettuce; cabbage
all work. |
